3/26/2023 0 Comments Fender bandmaster 2x12 cabinetIt's sounds pretty darn amazing really, and is very clean. I am looking for feed back and comments on the pair. Is this a bassman cab? What should I do here? Thinking of just removing the tabs from the cab, as I don't think I'll ever tilt the amp. My bandmaster lock down arms don't line up right with the mounting pegs on the cab. Anyone had any luck cleaning the grill cloth? I am thinking I may order up some new grill cloth and maybe just set it over top of the original so I don't remove the orignal cloth on the head. I assume it's yellow from cigarette smoke. The rear door looks like MDF or particle board. Any comments on the model and markings on these speakers? Are they a respectable speaker? Quite nice! I removed aĪll the screws on the back to look inside. I got home and plugged it in, and it did sound very good. The seller told me it was a Bandmaster Cab and the speakers were Jensen's dated 1964, so it should be a '64 cab. I am not sure what I bought, so I have photos here to help identify it. For the past month or so I have been searching for a matching cab. I don't see myself parting with these beauties any time soon.Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 64 Fender bandmaster head. Might look into making 2 1x12 cabs to house these speakers individually. I'm an amateur wood worker, and have been looking at making Hardwood Mesa knock-off cabinets for some time now. I think my plan down the road is to take the EVM and JBL out of the fender cabinet, and put more traditional speakers in. Just have to wait for a power supply to arrive. I didn't quite like the sound with the greenback and the bottom 2 running, but I'm feeling optimistic for the Micro Terror. so that should be about right for a 16 load right?Īnyway, I plugged it into my AC15's extension speaker jack, And this cabinet is loud. I read somewhere that the reading is only about 80% of the actual rating. I rewired and now I'm getting a solid 14.5 reading. The previous owner had it wired at 4ish ohms. As recommended, I bought a multi meter, and checked the ohms on the cabinet. Thank you guy's who have commented so far. Would you think of this as a pretty decent deal? Probably a little overkill on wattage for my needs right now, but whatevs. I'll change the grill cloth down the road, as it looks kinda gross. The tolex is a little dirty with some nicks, but I'd give it a 8/10. Haven't plugged the cabinet in until I get everything cleaned and tested. I'm not too well versed in either speaker maker. I've done a little bit of forum diving through google, and have gotten some varying reviews. This thing is loaded with an Electro Voice EVM 12L, and a JBL K-120. This is where I've got some questions for anyone out there who may have a little more knowledge on the subject. Pulled the back off, and God damn if some one hadn't swapped out the original speakers. Got it home and started doing a check over. Loaded it on a dolly and hauled it out to my car. Was actually able to do a partial trade with a crappy Morley Power Wah/Volume, and a Behringer Multicom. Dude said if I had the cash, he would do it for 2. Already out $150 on the amp, and I wasn't looking to spend more than $200. Half decent? Sounds like something just down my alley. Did a quick google, and saw that it seemed to be at least a half decent cabinet. It's an old Fender Bandmaster cabinet, guy at the shop said he thought it was from the 70s'. I had wanted to order 2 new speakers to load a Peavey 2x12 I had lying around, but ran into a cabinet at a local pawn shop today. Thought to myself if anything I can use it to run my Line6 Podxt Live through. I had a little cash leftover from Christmas, so I grabbed one of those Orange Micro Terrors. It's an awesome amp, and does what it's made for phenomenally. My main amp is a newer Vox AC15 with a greenback. I have a few showy pieces, but I'm always looking to get the most bang for my buck. So to preface this story, I consider myself a musician on a budget.
